![]() They had a tag match on Dark a few weeks ago where they looked a bit unhappy with one another. I think they teased a storyline where Sammy was going to act like a mentor to Garcia, but once again it went nowhere. He's been put on the back-burner so other stuff can happen. It's been four months since then and he's done absolutely fucking nothing. All of that went out the window when he lazily turned on Bryan to remain in the J.A.S. He beat Bryan in his return match, the 2 out of 3 falls rematch, winning the ROH Pure Title in his home-town, teasing dissent with Jericho. Wheeler Yuta is the perfect example of AEW's storytelling problem - he's a guy who wrestles but has no character or progression, so it's nearly impossible to get invested in him.ĪEW spent months telling the story of Garcia being torn between remaining in the J.A.S or joining with his wrestling idle Bryan Danielson. Apparently they're teaching Yuta to become a better wrestler, but this has never been expanded upon outside of random tag matches on Dark. ![]() There was some tension between Mox and Bryan which never got resolved because they both moved onto new programmes. Bryan Danielson is part of the group yet the BCC have barely helped him in the last couple of months. What is the point of this group anymore? Regal is gone so the name is redundant. This feud also brings me onto my next point MJF is failing as champion because he's doing the same schtick he was doing 2-3 years ago with no progression. It's lazy booking, but even worse, this is supposed to be the feud which is holding Dynamite together. This is the fourth time this has happened in AEW (Cody, Jericho, Wardlow, now Bryan). We all know the issue - it's yet another MJF feud where he puts barriers in front of his opponent before they can face him. Just Alyx's Dynamite review delves into AEW's poor execution of their current storylines (starts at 57:39) If you don't want to read my ramblings, here are some videos you can watch instead which basically summarise everything I'm about to say įriendo Club Wrestling break down AEW's lack of compelling stories Backstory - I've been an avid AEW watcher for nearly two years and still watch Dynamite, Rampage and even Dark every week but I'm at my wits end with the booking and need to vent.
